Why I love this Winter Hares wooden jigsaw puzzle...

I fell in love with this beautiful artwork from Lucy Grossmith as soon as I saw it, but I wasn't sure what to do with it. I didn't think it would work as a 1000 or 500 piece jigsaw puzzle, because while the artwork was stunning as always, I didn't think there was enough colour variation to make a satisfying large jigsaw.

My manufacturer had recently started offering 300 piece wooden jigsaws with whimsy shapes you could design to reflect the puzzle image. These high quality wooden puzzles seemed like the perfect answer. I love the finished result, including the beautiful whimsy shapes, although it took a few attempts to get a hare shape I liked and I had to play with the placement of these pieces to really show them off.

Made in limited quantities, you need to be quick if you want one, there's always a wait list when they come back into stock, but all in all, I think this is a really special wooden jigsaw puzzle to treasure.
