About Bloom Puzzles
How it started...
Having loved puzzles since childhood, I have returned to them more than once at key points in my adult years. From being 2 weeks overdue with both my sons and almost too pregnant to move, to quiet evenings as a single parent, to the death of a dear friend, jigsaws have come to my rescue allowing me to lose myself in bringing order to chaos, one piece at a time.
The idea for Bloom Puzzles came from my Christmas tradition of taking time out during the hectic holiday period with a jigsaw, a cup (or glass!) of something whilst savouring the scent of a seasonal candle and listening to some festive music.
Over the Christmas period in 2019, I realised this lovely, mentally relaxing combination would work just as well all year round, and would make the perfect thoughtful gift.
And then...
We all know what happened next. Due to the pandemic, Covid restrictions and home schooling, I was just behind the great jigsaw revival when the world slowed down and everyone remembered how fantastic puzzles are.
It was a time for reflection on so many levels. Still, I knew it wasn't too late, and I wasn't too old to start my dream business (having just turned 50) combining my love of jigsaws with essential oils. So after lots of product development and learning as I went how to build a small business from scratch, I launched Bloom Puzzles in 2021.
From the beginning it's been really important to me that my business has sustainability at its core, from focusing on environmentally friendly puzzle and candle materials to manufacturing in the UK (minimal puzzle miles) to giving something back.
